Swimming

I was finally able to get in the pool today. The last time was two weeks before my rotator cuff repair. It was great! My stepdaughter Kristin joined me and we enjoyed a cool relaxing couple of hours. Last year we bought the pool and weren't able to get the water clear. We have a big problem with iron in the water. I followed the pool experts advice and bought all kinds of chemicals and spent a small fortune (to me anyway) and the darn water was still cloudy. This year I took my time and finally ended up with clear clean water. It is four weeks since my surgery and I have to be careful with my shoulder. The last thing Cassie said to me before I went in was, " If you break your shoulder again I won't talk to you!" Needless to say, I was very, very careful. I love talking with my sweetie! The sun was hot and the water cool.
It just doesn't get any better than this! :68:

I got a good report!

:D I went to see the surgeon today for a post-op. He usually sees his patients after two weeks, but because of my diabetes he wanted to make sure I was healing properly. The O.R. nurse saw me first and was amazed at how well I am healing.
I have been using some powerful pain medications (they make me high and unsteady) since June of last year. two days after my third rotator cuff surgery (which was on Friday of last week) I was able to stop taking the pain meds! :DNow I am going to start physical therapy and hopefully go back to work soon.
My surgeon said that I had a hard band of scar tissue that caused the tear this time. He fixed the tear and removed the scar tissue. I hope it doesn't form again.
Now I have to fight with the Workman's comp Insurance company so that they will continue paying for the time out of work. I have heard and read all kinds of horror stories about how they treat people. In my case they took care of everything until this past May. The second opinion doctor (Dr. Roboto) told them that there was nothing more could be done to help me with the pain. Now I can go back and rub it in their faces.

It's always something!

We've been having trouble with our water all day today. The water would shut off every 5 or 10 minutes as if it was going through a salt cycle. It was getting very aggravating to us, we couldn't do wash or run the dishwasher, take showers nothing. Billy suggested he go under the house in the crawl space to see if there was enough salt in the tank. That's when he spotted the hose spurting water all over the ground. He came out and told us what he saw and so I tried to get my rather large rear end in there to see, but I couldn't get my heiney in far enough. Fortunately Billy was able to find where the hose connected to and push it on. Hopefully we'll have water until the plumber can get here to fix it. Yaaaaa Billy!

Yesterday Cassie, the kids and I made the journey to Long Island to celebrate Cassie's niece Nicole's First Holy Communion. I've made the trip in an hour and a half one time. Yesterday it took four and a half hours of battling traffic jams to get there. It was worth it! Cassie and the kids got to see their loved ones, which they haven't seen in a while and even though we were there for a short time we had fun. The food was good the conversation was great and Nicole was very cute in her beautiful white communion dress. The Rademacher side of Cassie's Family (her first husband's family) from the time I first met them has treated me as one of them. I always feel loved and welcome. They are the greatest! The trip home was long too. we hit jam-ups all the way to the Turnpike. Once we got to NJ it was clear sailing all the way to the King's Taste Chinese Restaurant where we stopped for a late supper. We had a great time and we are looking forward to getting together with the folks again soon.

The Stomach Flu!

The stomach flu is going around and we have been hit hard. Heidi was the first. She was sick three days last week. Saturday, Kristin got hit with it. and yesterday Billy and Cassie came down with it. Linda, Tomas and me are next! This bug seems to last two to three days. Symptoms are: Stomach cramps, vomiting, joint pain, exhaustion. The only thing we can do is treat the symptoms and let it run it's course.

On the brighter side here's a coupla pics of me and Tomas!
