My new Grandson revisited

Micheletummy_resize.jpg
My son-in-law; David, sent me this picture of Michele. The baby's due sometime in September. She looks like she's about ready to pop now! And look at that smile on Taylor's face! Makes a Pop-pop proud. I remember the same smile on Dennis the menace when he was getting into mischief.

The Edge of the Nest

6101.jpg
Kristin Performed in her school play last night; "The Edge of the Nest." It was a wonderful adaptation of a play by Steven Murray. Her character was Karrie Koppins the "good babysitter." She also played and sang in other bit parts. The kids did an incredible job singing, dancing and acting.

The Story

From the day we're hatched to the day we spread our wings and fly
on our own, there are a series of requisite, riotous rites of
passage that must be experienced. This collection of humorous
scenes and hummable songs explores the innocent squawk of
infancy, the terrible twos, the treacherous teens, and everything
in between. There are tactics for dealing with those who endeavor
to shape, stretch and warp our minds and bodies, like gym
teachers, substitute teachers and those cafeteria culinary
queens, "The Little Lunch Ladies." From the angst of acne,
adolescence, and part-time jobs, to the dangers of driver's ed.
and dealing with the dreaded kid sister, this is a hilarious,
high-flying adventure. This musical soars with laughter and
uplifting songs like: "Happy Birthday to Me," "Baby, Baby, We're
Babies," "School Daze," "The Teenage Tango" and the tribute to
the parents who give us roots and wings, "Thank You."

Here are some pics.

My new Grandson!

My daughter sent me pictures of the new baby, soon! Nikolas Aidan.
Check out his face, and his little dinky!
Being a pop-pop is the best! Little Niky will make 5 grandkiddies. Cassie and I are excited!

Yesterday Cassie, the kids and I made the journey to Long Island to celebrate Cassie's niece Nicole's First Holy Communion. I've made the trip in an hour and a half one time. Yesterday it took four and a half hours of battling traffic jams to get there. It was worth it! Cassie and the kids got to see their loved ones, which they haven't seen in a while and even though we were there for a short time we had fun. The food was good the conversation was great and Nicole was very cute in her beautiful white communion dress. The Rademacher side of Cassie's Family (her first husband's family) from the time I first met them has treated me as one of them. I always feel loved and welcome. They are the greatest! The trip home was long too. we hit jam-ups all the way to the Turnpike. Once we got to NJ it was clear sailing all the way to the King's Taste Chinese Restaurant where we stopped for a late supper. We had a great time and we are looking forward to getting together with the folks again soon.

Whew! What a day!

We are almost done!
A few weeks ago Cassie complained about the noise the kids were making in the family room. She couldn't concentrate on her writing with all the racket. We talked about setting up my laptop in our bedroom on a folding table so she could work in peace, but that idea didn't seem to get her excited. As she walked by my office one day she commented on how it would be nice to work in there. What! I thought, my office? I began to panic.
How can I give up my shelter, my "Fortress of Solitude." This is where I escape to when the kids get noisy, or when I just need my space. She can't be seriously thinking of taking over my little space. I had to think fast! I walked around the house trying to think of what I could do to save my space. Hmmmm I thought... I wonder.... I took my tape measure and scoped out the bedroom to see if Cassie's desk and stuff would fit. Yaaaaaa it did! So then I brought Cassie in to explain the idea. She agreed and we planned to make the switch that weekend.
Murphy and his stupid law interfered that weekend so I didn't get a chance till this weekend. I cleared out some junk in our bedroom, then ran a CAT 5 cable from the router to our bedroom, and vacuumed the space where it would go. Cassie put all her stuff in a box and I disconnected the computer and then Billy and I moved the desk. I hooked everything back up and tested computer and network then came the task of putting back all the stuff. The space where Cassie's workstation was had to be vacuumed and dusted and then, we were done.
Cassie now has her own fortress of solitude where she can escape to and concentrate on her writing.

Survivor All Stars!

After the Rob and Amber show ended I was left wanting. The contestants were so predictable it was boring most of the time. If the Survivor people ever do another All Stars show I would like to suggest a couple of oldies but goodies.

Survivor Beverly Hills!

survivorgilligan.jpg
Survivor Gilligan's Island!
These guys although we know them intimately, are wholly unpredictable.
It's got everything you need for a great show;
Babes, Hunks, and bumbling idiots!

Pictures came from worth 1000

Third times the charm

Well at least I hope so! I just got back from seeing Dr Gray, Dr. Farrel's associate. He says the same thing Dr. Farrel said: the rotator cuff has a tear and will have to be fixed, and that he won't be able to do it arthoscopically. (which would have been easier and a faster recovery) I spoke briefly with Dr. Farrel today and he said that maybe my Diabetes is causing the tear to heal slower than normal and that when we started the physical therapy at the normal time thats why it tore again. Next time we'll wait a couple of weeks more before the torture begins again.

We'll see.....

Good news, bad news!

I went to the doctor today to get the results of an arthrogram on my shoulder taken last week. The results? I have another tear in my rotator cuff and will need surgery to fix it! This will be the third one! On the same shoulder! When the doctor told me I gave a big sigh of relief. One of the biggest fears I have had through this whole ordeal is that I wouldn't be believed and would have to fight the company's insurance company. I have read and heard of all kinds of horror stories regarding workman's comp and insurance companies. I'm not looking forward to another surgery, especially with all the pain and complications, but I want to be able to do things again, like you know, work and earn a living, work on projects around the house, Hold my grandson without pain, you know, live a normal life.
docvisit2.gifMy doctor wants me to see his partner to see if an arthroscopic surgery will do the trick. The recovery for that will be better than if he has to do a major surgery, which will be another six month recovery. That'll be two years out of work for me, and thats if this works!
