Three weeks ago I was scheduled to have my third rotator cuff surgery (same shoulder), I had to go to the hospital for a preop checkup. They checked my BP, did an EKG and some blood work and three days later the surgery should have taken place. Nope! The day before the surgery, I had to see my surgeon, what a nightmare that was. (see cassie's entry) The first thing he said to me when he walked into the room was "What's wrong with your ticker!" Everything that happened after that was ignored as I remembered the EKG at the hospital and started to worry.
I then had to see my primary care physician who said that the EKG the hospital faxed to him was difficult to read, but he seemed to think it was within the normal range for my age. Just to make sure he sent me for a stress test. (see Cassie's entry) Monday I took the second part of the stress test. The nurse hooked me up to an IV and the EKG, then the doctor came in and took my BP. At rest it was only 118/72. I then had to walk on the dreadmill to get my heart-rate up . After about what seemed to be an hour but was only ten minutes my heart-rate was 170 and my BP was 146/82 the nurse injected me with a radioactive isotope. They let me catch my breath and slow my heart down to normal, then took X-Rays of my heart. (see Cassie's entry) Today I got a call from my Doctor that I did very well on my stress test, Hoooraaaaay! Now I can get my shoulder fixed. I hope!
Me too! We need to get your shoulder fixed and you out of so much pain! love you!!!!! xoxoxoxo
