We are almost done!
A few weeks ago Cassie complained about the noise the kids were making in the family room. She couldn't concentrate on her writing with all the racket. We talked about setting up my laptop in our bedroom on a folding table so she could work in peace, but that idea didn't seem to get her excited. As she walked by my office one day she commented on how it would be nice to work in there. What! I thought, my office? I began to panic.
How can I give up my shelter, my "Fortress of Solitude." This is where I escape to when the kids get noisy, or when I just need my space. She can't be seriously thinking of taking over my little space. I had to think fast! I walked around the house trying to think of what I could do to save my space. Hmmmm I thought... I wonder.... I took my tape measure and scoped out the bedroom to see if Cassie's desk and stuff would fit. Yaaaaaa it did! So then I brought Cassie in to explain the idea. She agreed and we planned to make the switch that weekend.
Murphy and his stupid law interfered that weekend so I didn't get a chance till this weekend. I cleared out some junk in our bedroom, then ran a CAT 5 cable from the router to our bedroom, and vacuumed the space where it would go. Cassie put all her stuff in a box and I disconnected the computer and then Billy and I moved the desk. I hooked everything back up and tested computer and network then came the task of putting back all the stuff. The space where Cassie's workstation was had to be vacuumed and dusted and then, we were done.
Cassie now has her own fortress of solitude where she can escape to and concentrate on her writing.

And I love it!!!! I got a lot of writing done in the last hour!!! :) Love you!!!!
