Yesterday went pretty well but I'm still very sleepy this morning. I could lie down and nap again but I know Linda will be leaving for work soon!
What a lot of driving yesterday! I dropped Linda at work because I needed to take the girls to the dentist later. I took Tomas with me to the grocery store and the library. He liked the look of the library and I borrowed some books to read to him. There's a little playroom with some toys I know he'd enjoy. There's a Tuesday program for toddlers and I signed him up. My kids used to love to go to the library.
He is having a really hard time drinking from almost all the sippy cups. Linda decided she was going to take the bottle away from him period. She'd bought a lot of sippy cups that have these valves to make them spill proof ... they're impossible for him to drink. He doesn't have the strength or doesn't know how to get the valve to work. Even I have trouble! He's been really grumpy because I think he misses the milk and he's thirsty. I found one cup he can drink from. There's no valve and so it's not spill proof but at least he can drink from it. Poor kid. I don't think this is the right way to go about it but then what do I know? I'm just the old retarded nana.
Let's see if I get my old energy back.
::Mountains, Valleys and Streams::
Onesome: Mountains-- What is the elevation where you live? Do you like it there or would you prefer something a little different?
It's 80 tall feet! I have driven around in the mountains and they scare me so I don't think I'd want to live in the Catskills or Poconos. I'm more a flat land, beach person.
Twosome: Valleys-- When you travel, do you have any particular valley or area you like to pass through on the way from here to there? ...and is there any route you'll take just for the scenery even if it's just a tad longer or more out of the way?
There aren't any scenic routes around here that I'd go out of my way to see. When I'm travelling, I'm usually on boring 95 and haven't come across any area that I really like to pass through.
Threesome: and Streams-- Do you have a stream you like to walk along and just think and enjoy the view? How about a netaphorical one if you don't have a real one close by?
I like all bodies of water, the bigger the better. I do enjoy the view and I do daydream a lot when I walk along a stream, river or lake.
Wednesday Whatevers
1. How do accents come about?
I know it's because in different parts of the country/the world people have different speech patterns. Like, in the south, speech is drawn out -- well, drawled -- and in New England it's clipped and faster. Sometimes it's got to do with the influences from the native language of people who settled a colony. In the Appalachian Mountains, there were a lot of Irish and Scots settlers. Pennsylvania had a lot of German and Dutch settlers. When almost the entire community speaks the same language they are going to have their own words and their own inflections. So that's how it happens.
2. Why are certain brands more desirable over others?
They work better for whatever reason than others. Sometimes it's got to do with the quality. Sometimes it's just a matter of personal preference: taste, smell, appearance.
3. Why do we use different currencies?
Because everyone wants "my own" money, even countries.

I told Linda that she should get the Avent cup. They are easy for the kids to drink out of and they are still spill proof. Even Taylor can't drink out of the ones with the valves so I take them out. Yeah they might spill but she shouldn't let him walk around with them anyway! Just a little thought that might help you out a little. And you aren't an old tart. She is the one that just doesn't want to listen
