Check Out William Shatner

I always want to remember the little things that make me smile. William Shatner played "Captain Kirk" in the series Star Trek in the 1960s. I heard he had a big ego but I thought he was very handsome. Now I realize he's very funny too and how can he be egotistical if he can poke at himself with great humor?

You'd have to be a Trekkie to get some of the humor. He was the spokesman for priceline.com for a long time and this year, he's been "replaced" by Leonard Nimoy, who happened to star with Shatner in the series. Supposedly they had a feud going and the commercials really allude to that well! Also, William Shatner had a singing (?) career for a while and he's written books. And he did this hilarious skit for Saturday Night Live in which he told a bunch of Trekkie fans to "get a life".

This is the latest, the article that brought a big smile to my face: Shatner Punks Town

What is your lifelong theme song, the music and/or lyrics that defines something about who - and how - you are?

I write about this frequently it seems. My lifelong theme song is “The Greatest Love of All”. The meaning behind the words really got through to me when I was a young adult. When I finally understood the message, I was able to let go of a lot of baggage and I began to cherish myself and to take care of myself. If I didn’t love me and if I couldn’t parent or take care of me, I was going to become lost. I love that song!
