Things are moving in the right direction!
Linda's had her license back a couple of weeks and she's now covered under TB's policy. She's broken off with Kennan. Little T is developing and growing right on target. He's so cute!
TB hasn't had any pain medication since the weekend. I think I'm not wrong in saying this is the first time since January 2003 that he's been without that awful shoulder pain!
I try to have Billy drive somewhere almost every day so he can get some practice. There are still some rough spots but he's getting better. This is one of the few times I like a NJ DMV policy. When he got his driver's permit, he was scheduled for a test in six months. Six months to practice -- that's a great idea!
Somehow God always provides. We had a lot of trouble with the water pressure in our house. All of a sudden, there'd be no water. That is a real drag when you are taking a shower or trying to brush your teeth! It turns out that there was a problem with the water pump. Well, we've been watching our money dwindle ever since the insurance company cut TB off. But this particular day, there was a check in the mail -- a refund on some property taxes!
So far, so good. I used to be really scared during times like this. I would always wait for the other shoe to drop, I never considered myself a lucky person. Well, luck has nothing to do with it and I think we'll continue to just roll with the punches.
1. Politics have gotten *so* far out of hand, that it's no longer about voting for the best person for the job, but the lesser of two evils. Does this matter to you? Why/Why not?
It does matter to me. I wish we had more than just two choices and I wish that more admirable people would go into politics. It?s depressing to vote for ?the lesser of 2 evils? every election.
2. The media in this country is also a joke. How do you get your news (tv, radio, internet), and *where* do you get it (CNN, Fox, other websites)?
I get a lot of my news from the internet. When I watch news, I prefer CBS for the local news. For international news, I think CNN is best and maybe the least slanted.
3. Do you pay attention to the world around you, or do you say 'forget it' and just concentrate on your own life? Why/Why not?
I do pay attention to the world around me. I?ve never been an ostrich. As for why ? what happens in the world can effect me, TB, and my family. How could I not pay attention?
Bonus Question for Comments: Are you happy with the way y2k+4 is shaping up? Do you think it'll get better or worse?
I am an optimistic. I always think things will get better. Even if they get worse, I tell myself they?ll get better.
::Surprises in the Mail::
Onesome: Surprises-- Hey, do you like surprises? ...and what kinds? Birthday parties, dinners out? ...or are you one of those people who absolutely has to know what's going on before it happens?
I love surprises! I feel like a little kid again when I get a surprise. I am not fussy about what kind of surprise ? I just like them be they dinner out, flowers, a birthday party ?
Twosome: in the-- nick of time: How do you keep track of birthdays and anniversaries and events you need to remember but only occur once a year? ...and where is your bailout place for cards and such when you've cut things a little too close?
I keep a calendar on Outlook now and I have a reminder sent to me a week before the event. I tend to be a procrastinator, though, and if the person with the birthday or anniversary has email, I most often go to www.care2.com. I like care2 because they make donations to animal welfare funds. If there isn?t an email, I try to call.
Threesome: Mail-- Mail Call! Did anything interesting show up lately besides the bills? ...and do letters and cards still make it to your place or have email and ecards taken it all over? Inquiring minds and all that...
I haven?t seen much of interest lately. I don?t get very many letters in the mail anymore. Email has taken much of that. As for bills and junk mail ? they still come in the mail!
Thursday Tattle:
Do you have a BBQ?
Yes, we have a gas grill TB got for father?s day last year
Which do you prefer BBQ or oven cooked?
BBQ!
What is your favorite thing to BBQ?
I like everything TB grills. The traditional favorites: hamburgers and hotdogs
Is your grill charcoal or gas?
Gas
How often do you BBQ in the summer?
If it?s not raining, TB fires up the grill!
California also has a graduated drivers' license. Allison has her permit (meaning an licensed adult has to be in the car with her) and my goal is that she will have at least 300 before she gets her license. That averages to 12 hours a week, but we've had at least 20 hours already on road trips so I feel sure she will be very experienced before she's on her own.
