I hear you

I wrote a little bit about this "new and improved" Kennan who brought Linda roses and ice cream. Michele, who has seen this kind of thing many times before, left a message for me. It's funny and I hate to be cynical, but I was just thinking almost the same thing. In a controlling relationship, when the guy goes too far he's always "sorry". And then for a while, he's nice as pie. That's called "the honeymoon phase". It lasts about as long as it takes to get the woman content and happy again. And then BAM! The bad guy's back in town!

So far, though, Linda is taking all this with a grain of salt. She says she is keeping TB and me posted so that if she starts to feel content with her relationship again, we can bring her back to reality. That's good and I really pray it works out that way. In the back of my head, I worry that Kennan will convince her to go back with him and then ... the same old same old. But hopefully Linda is benefitting enough from staying here that she won't be tempted to go back without a whole lot of counseling for her & Kennan.

So the girls and I went to the mall today before Billy needed to be picked up from work. We went into a little shop just for teenage girls and young women. I think it was called Claire's. Anyway, I flashed back to some of the shops I'd visit in Ocean City. They had lots of cute or cool looking jewelry. That's what this Claire's was like. So as Kristin picked out the necklace she wanted, I just took a short walk down Memory Lane. These things are not terribly expensive and you can have fun wearing them -- they look nice, not cheap.

My favorite piece was a "ban the bomb" necklace. It was handmade, the circle and legs were some kind of metal all welded together. Inside each of the legs was a piece of stained glass. I bought it in one of those little stores in Ocean City, along with other items like a scrimshaw necklace and ring and several tee shirts. I wore that necklace for years and years. I'm not sure what happened to it.

It's been a looooong day today and I'm about to call it quits and go plop in front of the TV or something!

I read your blog everyday. It makes me feel like I am at home. Cause then I know what's going on with my family. I hope and pray that Linda does stay there with you guys cause she will benefit so much more than if she were to go back to kennan's. She has to relize that we love her and only want what's best for her. I tell her that all the time. No matter what she and kennan will always have a bond and that they should stay friends for Tomas' sake and Tomas only. Other than that I am staying out of it just like you and Dad are. Well it is my day off and I am going to do the same thing that you are. REST!
Love,
Michele
