Yesterday was the day that the kids went Trick or treating. My kids went 1 block and said that their feet hurt. Yet they stay outside all day on the weekends. When Linda and I were growing up My mom would bring us to the richest neighborhoods and we would do several of them in 1 night. We would go see our Grandparents and be out late at night. We would have such a blast. We would end up with lots of candy too. My boys didn't even want to knock on doors. Taylor was the only one that wanted to keep going. They got more candy in NJ than they did here. Last year and the year before was so much fun. We had Mandee and her kids and Linda was with us. We would all take turns driving the kids in the Bronco. On the way home we would try to squeeze everyone in the truck. It was cold last year and this year it was hot with 92% humidity. I told the kids that they weren't going Trick or treating unless they made up costumes from stuff they had around the house. I gave them some ideas. Brandon was a Mobster and Ryan was a ninja and Taylor was a princess. She got the most attention. They loved how pretty she is. She got a bonus cause it was her Birthday! I think that the rednecks around here are cheap! They gave out yucky candy. Stuff you wouldn't even give to your dog. LOL.... Oh well maybe next year we'll go to a housing development instead of a mobile home park.

What Common Breed of Dog Are You?
brought to you by Quizilla
OH MY GOODNESS! I'm just like Buddy our ADD. how embarrassing. (ADD stands for A Dumb Dog!)
Heidi was invited to a Halloween sleepover and while TB and I were driving her to the friend's house, we noticed a lot of police cars out and about. We were wondering what it was about and then remembered "Mischief Night". I'd never heard of it until we moved to New Jersey.
Do you have "Mischief Night" where you live? Have you heard of it?
So Linda left about an hour ago for the sleep center. We've been worried about how much she sleeps and how tired she feels. Her parents both have had sleep apnea and so it's possible she has it now too. It's not a terrible test to go through ... you go there and you sleep! When I had it done, I was wired up to an EKG and an EEG and all kinds of machines but I was actually quite comfortable and fell asleep easily. After a couple of hours the techs came in, confirmed I had apnea and then put me on a CPAP machine. CPAP stands for continuous positive airway pressure and it's set to a certain number that will benefit a person the best. It's all individualized. So what happens is I wear the mask at night and I am always breathing in air. Even when I stop breathing, the forced air goes through my nose and into my lungs. So if Linda has apnea, they'll give her a CPAP machine too.
Tonight is an extra challenge for Linda, Tomas, TB and me. For Linda and Tomas, this is the first night they will spend away from each other. Tomas will sleep in our room and we're hoping he won't be too upset sleeping with his Pop Pop and Nana. He is a really good baby and besides, he's tuckered out from his own breathing problem this week!
This morning there was a visitor at my door that my Cat Max didn't like. We have a stray dog that likes to sit in my front yard. We have been feeding him cause we can't bear to let him starve. We just give him our left overs. Well I had the front door open and the dog was looking in the house through the screen door and Max came out of nowhere and charged at him. Slam! Right into the door. It was the funniest thing. So the whole time the dog kept ticking my cat off. Max ran into the glass about 3 times and finally realized that he can't get to the dog. Now this is weird behavior for Max cause we have had dogs before. I guess he was just protecting Taylor and I. I told Taylor this morning that we need to put a sign on the front door that says Beware of attack cat instead of beware of Dog!
Like Donna my baby girl's birthday is coming this weekend. Although my little one is only going to be 4 it seems like she is growing up to fast. She already wants to do everything for herself. Sometimes I don't think that I am ready for that. I don't want to let her do to much for herself, but I just have to remind myself that soon she'll be going to school and I won't be able to stop her. My Boys are getting big too. It seems like soon enough they are going to be moving out of the house. I think that Ryan has a crush on a little girl two houses behind us. That is a big step for him. If I mention the girls name he gets all red in the face. He told me that she likes Chocolate chip pop tarts just like him and that he shares them with her on the bus. It is too cute. I told him that girls are nothing but trouble and I don't think that he fell for it. Can't blame me for trying.
Brandon is hanging out with older kids rather than 5 and 6 year olds. He is in his own age group now. Which he never got along with before we can here. He is so active now. He is always outside playing football with his friends. I think it is great for him. His grades have really improved in a week since we put him on Meds for his ADD. He only had 1 failing grade last week and that was social studies. Math was awesome and that is the subject that he really struggled with. he hasn't come home with homework at all. I know that this is what is good for him
I went to take a picture of Nikolas so that all can see how big he is getting and our digital camera isn't working. I can't get a disk in it. I think that it got dropped. One of the kids must have dropped it when we weren't looking. I will have to take regular pics and send them to my Dad so that he can scan them and put them on here. Nikolas is a great baby. He sleeps so good at night and the only time he really cries is when he gets gas and he is hungry. It is such a blessing!
My daughter Melissa's birthday will soon be here.
We already celebrated by taking her, her fiance,
our son Robbie to dinner at Olive Garden and home
for presents and cake.
My children's birthdays always make me look back
thru the years. I picture them at each age. I long
to go back and cuddle them as babies, play with
them as toddlers and children, spend more time talking
to them as teenagers -just one more time.
But you can't go back, much as you want to.
So I'm trying to live more in the moment.
And making memories to treasure.
My shoulder is hurting a lot today. I'm not sure what's going on, bursitis, arthritis or some other painitis but I figure rest can only help. So I'm resting.
When you were a child...
1. what did you want to be when you grew up and why?
I wanted to be a writer because I loved to make up stories
2. who was your favorite person to do things with (excluding your parents)?
My grandma
3. did you love school or did you hate it? Why? Did that change as you got older?
I liked elementary and high school, hated junior high. The kids in junior high just seemed mean and crass. In high school, we seemed to get past most of the nasty behaviors. I had some good friends and some great teachers in high school
4. was your family close? What were your favorite family traditions?
I guess my family was close. My parents spent a lot of time with my aunt and uncle – they were all deaf. Sometimes we’d get everyone together for a picnic. I don’t know if this counts as a tradition but my favorite time was getting together with my aunt, uncle & cousins in Ocean City. We did that for several summers and it was great.
5. did you think that being an adult would be cool?
I thought it would be scary. I still do.

Peruvians develop super-tasty guinea pig
By Lester Haines
Published Tuesday 19th October 2004 10:59 GMT
Scientists at Peru's La Molina National University reckon they have developed a world-beating culinary experience - the plumper, tastier "Peruvian Breed" guinea pig, AP reports.
The average Peruvian guinea pig weighs in at best at a modest one-and-a-half pounds and offers the locals a lean, sinewy eating experience. The new überpig, by contrast, tips the scales at a whopping two-and-a-half pounds packing plenty of low-fat, low-cholesterol meat. It took 30 years to develop and the team behind the advance reckons that it might sell the consumption of the animal to westerners who are traditionally averse to eating household pets. Gloria Palacios, director of La Molina National University's "project to promote guinea pig exports", enthused: "I think if they become familiar with the cuisine, maybe suddenly they'll give in and be tempted to try it. It is really delicious."
Those keen to taste-test the Peruvian Breed might be interested to know that it reportedly tastes like rabbit. The fact that it does not taste like chicken - as allegedly does every exotic animal from snake to capybara - must come as an immense relief to the locals. Peruvians get through 65m guinea pigs a year, which must make a welcome change from, er, chicken. The animal has a long history in Peru as sacred animal and menu item. It is reckoned to have been domesticated 2,500 years ago and its popularity survived Spanish efforts to stamp out the indigenous rodent. Indeed, it is still used by healers who use the furry diagnostic device to pinpoint patients' ills - as well as gracing dinner tables across the country.
La Molina National University is already exporting 1,000 Peruvian Breed guinea pigs per month to the US, Japan and Europe. Most end up delighting the taste buds of America's Peruvian expat community. ®

Well, the insane part fits.. LOL
"You are Slackware Linux. You are the brightest among your peers, but are often mistaken as insane. Your elegant solutions to problems often take a little longer, but require much less effort to complete."

You are Windows 98. You're a bit flaky, but well-liked. You don't have a great memory, but everyone seems to know you. A great person to hang out with and play some games.
Brandon has been diagnosed with ADD for about 2 years now. None of the Doctors put him on medication for it until yesterday. The doctor put him on Straterra. It is a non stimulant unlike Ritalin. It is supposed to help him concentrate. Well today is the first day he took it and he didn't come home with all of his class work. I am hoping that this will work and that his grades will improve. He didn't do quite well this past marking period. The teacher told me that he would sit and stare most of the day. At home he suffered too. I would say Brandon tie your shoes or clean your room and have to repeat myself ten times. I felt like a broken record most of the time. I am starting to feel like Ryan might have ADD also.He has alot of the symptoms. The teachers are going to send home paper work and we are going to fill it out and take it to the doctor. I read that ADD is hereditary. So who know maybe David or I have it and they got it from us. Just another thing that they can inhereit.

Are you good about returning someone's phone call?
So-so. I'd rather IM or email
It was so nice to have Linda and Tomas here for the weekend. They left this morning. They were supposed to stay until Friday, but Angalee had a Dr.s appointment. So they had to leave. It was hard on us all. My Kids are so close to Linda. They all love her so much. I think that she is their favorite aunt. Maybe it is cause she lived with us for so long and they all bonded with her. Taylor cried for her aunt and wanted Tomas to stay with us. She loved having him to play with. She would go out and play with her friends and then come right back in to play with Tomas. It was so cute. I hope that we will see them again really soon.

I also saw a news item about someone stalking Mel Gibson
Apparently this guy developed some obsession to pray with Mel Gibson after he saw The Passion of the Christ. He's been sending letters and calling and then even showed up in Gibson's church. I'm wondering, why didn't he just pray with the guy? Especially in the church. It might have made the guy go away. I mean, of course the guy could take it further like Mark David Chapman did (he was the disturbed fan that killed John Lennon). On the other hand, maybe that was all this guy needed. Oh well.
We all miss Little T and it brings us to realize how much we miss all the kids, Brandon, Taylor, Ryan, Nikolas too. The house is so quiet. In one way, Linda's situation has been a sort of blessing for us because we got to see Tomas and play with him every day. We won't have that with the other kids because we're just so far apart. I feel bad for my own kids, that their grandparents are virtual strangers. They haven't seen my parents in years and it's been several months since they saw Fred and Alberta. I feel sad we have that distance with Michele, David & their kids.
Time for a meme to distract me.
Ten Favorite Quotes from the Movies
What are your favorites?
Some of my quotes are parts of a conversation from a movie. So I went to the Movie Database to get them right. These are in no particular order:
Network, 1976
Howard Beale : [shouting] You've got to say, 'I'm a HUMAN BEING, Goddamnit! My life has VALUE!' So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell, 'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!' I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell - 'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Things have got to change. But first, you've gotta get mad!... You've got to say, 'I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!' Then we'll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it: [screaming at the top of his lungs] "I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!"
Arthur Jensen : You have meddled with the primal forces of nature, Mr. Beale, and I won't have it. Is that clear? You think you've merely stopped a business deal? That is not the case. The Arabs have taken billions of dollars out of this country, and now they must put it back. It is ebb and flow, tidal gravity. It is ecological balance. You are an old man who thinks in terms of nations and peoples. There are no nations; there are no peoples. There are no Russians. There are no Arabs. There are no third worlds. There is no West. There is only one holistic system of systems; one vast, interwoven, interacting, multivaried, multinational dominion of dollars.
Casablanca, 1942
Rick : Last night we said a great many things. You said I was to do the thinking for both of us. Well, I've done a lot of it since then, and it all adds up to one thing: you're getting on that plane with Victor where you belong.
Ilsa : But, Richard, no, I... I...
Rick : Now, you've got to listen to me! You have any idea what you'd have to look forward to if you stayed here? Nine chances out of ten, we'd both wind up in a concentration camp. Isn't that true, Louie?
Captain Renault : I'm afraid Major Strasser would insist.
Ilsa : You're saying this only to make me go.
Rick : I'm saying it because it's true. Inside of us, we both know you belong with Victor. You're part of his work, the thing that keeps him going. If that plane leaves the ground and you're not with him, you'll regret it. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon and for the rest of your life.
Ilsa : But what about us?
Rick : We'll always have Paris. We didn't have, we, we lost it until you came to Casablanca. We got it back last night.
Ilsa : When I said I would never leave you.
Rick : And you never will. But I've got a job to do, too. Where I'm going, you can't follow. What I've got to do, you can't be any part of. Ilsa, I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that. Now, now... Here's looking at you kid.
Field of Dreams, 1989
John Kinsella : Is this heaven?
Ray Kinsella : It's Iowa.
John Kinsella : Iowa? I could have sworn this was heaven.
[John starts to walk away]
Ray Kinsella : Is there a heaven?
John Kinsella : Oh yeah. It's the place where dreams come true.
[Ray looks around, seeing his wife playing with their daughter on the porch]
Ray Kinsella : Maybe this is heaven.
Voice: If you build it, he will come
Forrest Gump, 1994
Forrest Gump : Mama always said life was like a box a chocolates, never know what you're gonna get.
Jenny Curran : Were you scared in Vietnam?
Forrest Gump : Yes. Well, I-I don't know. Sometimes it would stop raining long enough for the stars to come out... and then it was nice. It was like just before the sun goes to bed down on the bayou. There was always a million sparkles on the water... like that mountain lake. It was so clear, Jenny, it looked like there were two skies one on top of the other. And then in the desert, when the sun comes up, I couldn't tell where heaven stopped and the earth began. It's so beautiful.
Jenny Curran : I wish I could've been there with you.
Forrest Gump : You were.
Harvey, 1950
Elwood P. Dowd : Well, I've wrestled with reality for 35 years, doctor, and I'm happy to state I finally won out over it.
Parenthood, 1989
Tod : You know, Mrs. Buchman, you need a license to buy a dog, to drive a car - hell, you even need a license to catch a fish. But they'll let any butt-reaming asshole be a father.
[Gil has been complaining about his complicated life; Grandma wanders into the room]
Grandma : You know, when I was nineteen, Grandpa took me on a roller coaster.
Gil : Oh?
Grandma : Up, down, up, down. Oh, what a ride!
Gil : What a great story.
Grandma : I always wanted to go again. You know, it was just so interesting to me that a ride could make me so frightened, so scared, so sick, so excited, and so thrilled all together! Some didn't like it. They went on the merry-go-round. That just goes around. Nothing. I like the roller coaster. You get more out of it.
Ever have one of those days? Well, I did ... today! So I found this little quiz very informative.

What Natural Disaster are you? Take the quiz!
I miss Little T and Linda!
I know that they've arrived safely in TN and will be enjoying their visit with David, Michele and the other grandkiddies. But they are all so far away now. I've gotten used to getting up in the morning and hearing T 'talking' or bouncing up and down in his saucer. I hope to see lots of nice pictures soon!!!!

Getting to know you
What is something you dislike about yourself?
This is a hard question.
Maybe that I let my temper get away from me
some times.
I let little things build up and up until something
snaps. Then I let it all gush out.
Thank goodness not very often though.
What is something you do well?
I enjoy cooking.
What is your favourite room in your home and why?
My kitchen. A couple of years ago we had it remodeled
and enlarged by knocking out back wall on to enclosed
back porch. Every detail of the kitchen was made the way
I wanted it, to the limit of the space and money we had.
I spend years daydreaming and planning.
What is a good neighbour?
Good question. My sister's neighborhood is one I like to visit
but wouldn't want to live there. Everyone is in and out of
each others house all the time. Everyone knows everyone's
business too. It seems fun and happy, but there is so much
gossip and pettiness going on.
I'd love the friendly happy stuff without the ugly side.
As for my husband and me. We are friendly, but keep to ourselves.
We don't mind our neighbor's business.
What is the worst thing parents can do to their children?
Ignore them.
What is your favourite time of day?
4 pm. That is when John gets home from work.
What is your idea of a dull evening?
Having to spend one with people I don't care for.
What is the best way to treat meddlesome people?
Walk away? Leave them talking to the air where you once were. LOL
What is something you are optimistic about?
That is a rough one for me. I'm a worrier.
Look there have been times when I thought that
I knew, just knew this or that was going to be ok.
Then had the rug pulled out from under me.
What is something you are pessimistic about?
Not enough space to list.
What is your most indispensable possession and why?
My books. I love to read. I have 8 full sized bookcases
and boxes of stories from the internet. You can take
away the tv, vcr, dvd, stereo. I'd still be ok if I had my books.
What is the meaning of "He laughs best who laughs last"?
Hmmmm....maybe that the person who laughs last is the one
who got his way?
What is your favourite song and why?
It's silly but I can't think of the name of it. It's by Randy Travis.
I think in my early 30's I was fretting about my hair turning grey,
my weight and other things. My husband came in and sang me the
song. Oh I remember the song name. I'm going to love you forever.
It really doesn't matter how the world sees me. As long as John sees
me with love, I'm ok.
What is the best birthday present you ever received?
Th first b-day gift John gave me. The first year we were married.
I was pregnant. My parents had forgotten my b-day. We were broke.
John used his lunch money to buy me a rose and a card.
And inside he wrote a poem. I still have the rose and the card.
What is the best birthday present you could receive?
The peace of mind that the future would be ok for my children.
What is something that makes you feel sad?
Last weekend Rascal our dog was sick. Hurt really.
He is over 14 years old. I know our time with him is running out.
What is your favourite book and why?
To Kill a Mockingbird.
It is so well written. You really can get into this family and town.
Walk around in their lives. It changed the way I see the world.
What is something that really bugs you?
Sarcasum. (did I spell the right?)
Someone belittling someone just to make themselves feel
good.
What is something that really makes you angry?
The thing that really pushes my button is lack of respect.
What Is the best advice you ever received?
Everything changes. Which is also upsetting.
What is your favourite holiday? What makes this holiday special?
Christmas. We decorate the house. Put up the tree.
Give gifts. Prepare special food. Spend time getting ready for it.
Watch movies that are special to it that month. It all comes
down to spending time together= just our family, our extended family
and friends.
What is your favourite day of the week?
Friday. John and I go out to eat usually. Most times with one or both
of our kids. Sometimes just us. We run errands.
What is your favourite month? Why?
October. I love autumn. Open windows with fresh, crisp air coming in.
Colorful, crunching leaves. Sitting on the porch while it rains.
Halloween. So many reasons more.
I can hardly wait. Linda and Tomas are coming down to visit. They are coming here with a really good friend, Angalee. I haven't seen my sister or my nephew in 8 months. I only got to hold Tomas once and I got the privilege of giving him his first bath. Then we moved here. I haven't seen Angie since last year. I used to babysit her and her 3 brothers. Her Mom says that I helped raise her. She was my little shadow when she was little and now she is 21. It makes me feel old. Where does time go? Before I know it Tomas will be going to school...... AAAAHHHHHH! I hope to be able to go home for Thanksgiving so that Pop-Pop and Nana can spend time with the grandkids.
These are some what questions...could be fun ... I'm going to give them a try

I have never seen so many skunks in my life. Since we have moved here I must have seen 50 if not more. They live under my next door neighbors shed. They aren't afraid of humans at all. One night when David was pulling in from work there was one in the front yard. He tried revving the motor of the van and throwing things at it, but it wouldn't move. My sister in law was here visiting and she went out to smoke and they were right by my front door. My cat likes to play with them. We call him skunk boy cause he kinda looks like a skunk except for he has no white on him. It is awful at night if we leave the windows open. They are all we smell. It is overpowering. I get up with the baby and sniff sniff ewww Pepe is out side. So For a trick this Halloween David and I are going to get white hair spray and spray a white stripe down Tomas' back(the cat) HE HE HE. People are going to think that he is a skunk! What a hoot!!! I have to put this on americas funniest!
A couple of weeks ago David and I decided to go to Gatlinburg to get coffee. It is a 20-25 minute drive from our house. When we make coffee here at home it comes out bitter. We get to take a nice drive through the mountains. We aren't lucky enough to have a wawa. that's one of the things I miss about NJ. Anyhoo. We took the drive and the kids were all great. So we thought that we would do it every Sunday if we had money and providing that David was off of work. Well we went today. It was wonderful. The leaves are starting to change color and as we are driving there is a little creek that follows the strip. What a beautiful picture. We all got our fix and we headed back home. Well the Traffic on the weekends is horrible here cause it is tourist country. So David took this new back road that he discovered while on a delivery at work. It was like a roller coaster. I almost choked on my coffee. The van doesn't fit well on these roads cause they are so narrow. The boys were yelling weeeeee as we went over them and Taylor was screaming I wanna go home I don't like this very much. It sounds so crazy to travel 20 minutes just to get a cup of coffee, but it is all about spending time together as a family. No fighting, T.V., or the kids friends. It is well worth it!
How come they tell you that when someone passes away it gets easier with time? It hasn't gotten any easier for me. 3 years ago my mom passed away. The anniversary is coming up on October 5th. The thing that makes it worse for me is that she passed away the day before Brandon's birthday. I miss her so much. Having a new baby make it bad too. She loved babies so much. She loved her grandkids, but babies were her specialty. I was in a mood yesterday and poor David got the brunt of it till he figured out why I was in that mood. He said that it was because mom's death anniversary it coming up. I told him BINGO!!!! I was having memories of the day that I got to sit with her before my Gram picked her up to go to the hospital. She was so happy. Very uncomfortable, but happy. She held Taylor and told us how much she loved us. I was very happy to be able to spend time with her before she went. Then David came to pick us up and she was ready to go. That was the last time that I got to see her well. I cannot picture her in any other way but the way she was the night she died and that is not the way I want to see her in my mind. If I see pictures of her it brings tears to my eyes. I ball like a baby for her. I know that she is in heaven with our father, but the selfish part of me wants her here with us.
I Believe that babies can see things that we can't. Sometimes Nikolas will sit there and stare at a spot on the wall and smile and giggle. I think that my mom and David's Dad are talking to him. Taylor used to do the same thing when she was a baby. I hope that I am right. I hope that they are talking to him and telling him how much he is loved. I know that they are watching over him and keeping him safe.
Did anyone else watch the debate last night? If so, who do you think won?
