Had to post this ...
Young children respond to the question WHAT IS A GRANDPARENT?
"A grandfather is a man grandmother."
"Grandparents don't have to do anything except be there when
we come to see them. They are so old that they shouldn't play
hard or run. It is good if they drive us to the store and have
lots of quarters for us."
"When we take them for walks, they slow down past things like
pretty leaves and caterpillars. They show us the color of
pretty flowers and talk to us about them, and also why we
shouldn't step on cracks in the sidewalk."
"They don't say 'Hurry up.'"
"Usually grandmothers are fat, but not too fat to tie your
shoes. They wear glasses and funny underwear. They can take
their teeth and gums out."
"Grandparents don't have to be smart. They only have to
answer questions like, 'Why isn't God married?' and 'How come
dogs chase cats?'"
"When they read to us, they don't skip pages. They don't mind
if we ask for the same story over again."
"Everybody should try to have a grandmother, especially if you
don't have television, because they are the only grownups who
like to spend time with us."
"They know we should have snack time before bed time, and they
say prayers with us every time, and kiss us even when we've
acted bad."
"My Grandma lives at the airport, and when we want her we just
go get her. Then when we're done having her visit, we take her
back to the airport."
Today I got a book I'd ordered from Writer's Digest, called You Can Write A Column. I'd ordered it because I noticed I have less trouble scribbling little essays than writing fictional stories. When I started flipping through the book, though, I thought I must have been nuts. What could I write a column about? But now I've got some ideas! It just might work!
I still have this bug and am still feeling very lethargic

Cassie you are a terrific writer. You can do whatever you set your sights on. If you want to write novels then write them, essays, columns, You can do it. :ilu: :ilu: :ilu: :ilu:
That is Cute Cassie.. Alot of it describes Gram. Except that she has all of her teeth. And she really isn't fat. I can remember when I was a little girl I would rather be with my grandparents than my parents. That's cause I was spoiled rotten by my grandmother and I did no wrong in her eyes. Thne I grew up... LOL..... :28:
