Defensive driving
As any one in New Jersey can tell you, we pay the highest auto insurance premiums in the country. Auto insurance is a no-win situation for the consumer and a win-win for the insurance companies. So Cassie had gotten a call from her insurance company reminding her that it was time to take the defensive driving course again. It gives her a ten percent reduction on her insurance. A few months ago I posted my feelings about auto insurance..
I decided that I would join her this time and try to get a reduction in points and a break on my insurance bill. (We have separate insurance companies because I have some points on my license). The class was held at Burlington County College. When we got to room 209 at the college we new right away we were in trouble. The seats were designed for normal sized people to sit in for an hour long class at the most. I am not a normal sized man by any stretch of the imagination!
Cassie had the right idea, our class was going to be 8 hours long, so she went hunting for a more comfortable chair while I decided to "tough" it out by wedging my self into the classroom chair. What a mistake that was! Then the other problem was that the classroom was too warm. The instructor came in and announced that he was not contagious and that it was only a sinus infection, that he was going to still try to teach us and that we may finish up sooner, if we did he would still issue us our certificates.
Our instructor rambled a bit but was able to get us through the course with a few breaks but skipping lunch so we could finish up at 2:00. My back was hurting so bad at the end of the class, from sitting in that stupid little chair I had trouble getting to the door. Cassie and I decided that we would go home, take a little nap and then take the kids to our favorite Chinese restaurant, The King's Taste. Billy was working at the theater, Linda was babysitting for a friend so it was just me and the girls. We had a great time.
