The battle of the bulge!
Our whole family is trying to get in shape, lose weight and stay healthy. This morning I was engaged in a different battle of sorts.
Cassie was up late babysitting our grandson Tomas, so I agreed to get up at six am to make sure Billy, Heidi and Kristin got up in time to get the bus for school. Billy was already up and had made himself some breakfast. I heard Heidi moving around upstairs and it was too soon to wake Kristin, so I went into my office to check my email. About 6:45 I hear a rhythmic thumping sound coming from the direction of the laundry room. Thinking the washing machine was unbalanced I ran to fix it. As I entered the family room, there was Billy on the treadmill creating the sound. He was still in his pajamas!
"Billy!" "What are you doing!" I yelled. "It's almost time to leave for school!" "You don't have time to shower and get dressed before the bus comes!" He calmly tells me to relax, then gets off the treadmill and starts for the stairs to his bedroom. I told he was going to stink of sweat if he didn't shower after exercise. I also told him he should have done the mill as soon as he got up. He gave me that sullen angry look and started up the stairs, I turned around and started to go back to the office when I heard him say to his sister, "We'll never lose weight because of HIM!"
I blew my top! I shouted back, "you'll never lose weight because you can't seem to keep from overeating and that's not my fault!" "You need to exercise at the proper time not 15 minutes before school, that's just stupid!"
There's a lot of talk in the house of diet sabotage, and I'm tired of it. It's so much easier to blame everyone else for our troubles. People are responsible for their own actions. Take responsibility, It's not my fault you're fat! It's my fault I'm fat, no one else's. It's not my fault you aren't losing weight, it's your own! If you don't like the hand life has dealt you, change it! Don't blame me for it!
On top of all that The kid forgot to take out the garbage again!
