The pigsty upstairs UPDATED!

Since I made this post Kristin has gotten help from her big sister Heidi to clean her room. Heidi really stepped up to the plate and became a wonderful big sister. Kristin was so overwhelmed at how big a mess her room was that she didn't know where to start to clean it. She was supposed to go out to the movies with Heidi that day but was not allowed out until her room was cleaned. Heidi worked with her for seven and a half hours to get the mess cleaned up. They did a great job. I am very proud of Heidi. They then went out and saw the movie. One of the things I tried to very hard to teach the kids over the last seven years is to work together. Many hands make light work! I have been very happy with the way Heidi and I have been getting along. Now that we are not bumping heads together all the time we can actually enjoy each other's company. I have wanted this for so long. Heidi has turned out to be a wonderful young lady.

How can any person live this way? The rule has been that she has to have a clean path to the door in her room and not bring the mess downstairs. But It is an ongoing battle just to keep the sloppy mess upstairs with out gravity sucking the crap down where Cassie and I need to live. This is too much and I've had enough! This is never going to happen again! The problem has been that Cassie and I have been so disabled we weren't able to do spot-checks up the stairs to Kristin's room. Now no matter how much it hurts I am going up there every week and I am gonna have to kick some serious Teenage butt to keep it clean. No more Mr. Nice guy to Kristin. She is going to keep her room clean if it kills her! Or until she moves out. God help her room-mates in college or a future husband.

Hurray for Kristin and Heidi! :-) (and for you and Cassie too...) I have to say Kristin's room made me feel a little better about my own little packrat, so now maybe she can have a little motivation from this too... how about an "after" shot or two?
