I'm such a loser!

I got on the scale this morning and discovered I now weigh 271 pounds! Hooray! It hasn't been all fun and games though, even with the bariatric surgery I still need to watch the kinds of food I stuff down my gullet. I stick mostly to high protean low carb foods, but every now and then I will pick up something that isn't the best choice and slow down the weight loss process. It's not that I eat a lot of junk, but sometimes I crave something crunchy. With the surgery though, it's easier to get back on track and continue to lose. The surgery isn't a cure-all that allows you to continue in your old lifestyles, You need to change your whole way of thinking about food. Food is fuel for the body, nothing more, I have to eat to live not live to eat! The surgery is a drastic tool that removes the nagging hunger and helps you to eat less and feel fuller faster. For me it was a life saving decision, I had many co-morbidities that caused me to make this choice, Diabetes being the biggest issue. No matter what I did my sugar would rage out of control. After the surgery my diabetes is gone! The doctors use the word remission.  I can take no credit for this weight loss only for sticking to the plan after the surgery. Dr. Greenbaum gets the credit for the surgery and the Lord gets the credit for getting me through it and keeping me to it!

Hey how about that; I'm a poet and didn't know it!
