The man's side of it!

So Cassie and I are going through some extreme financial and health woes. I've been out of work since last September due to a severe and progressive back injury. I applied and received NJ State Disabilty which is only good for six months, I ran out in March. Since I may be out of work for more than a Year I applied for Social Security Disability. As most people know it takes six months to a year to receive benefits. That is if they think you are going to die from the problem. So now I have very little income, very little!

We are trying to figure out how we are going to keep from having our house taken away. We had an investor coming to our house tonight to see if there were any options, like selling the house. We have a beautiful two level home that was appraised last year at $275000.00 and our mortgage was only about $199000.00 so there was the option to use our equity to help us stay affloat. Since Cassie and I are pretty much disabled we don't venture upstairs very often, Besides the upstairs is the children's territory. We have two adult children and a teenager inhabiting the upstairs.

This morning Cassie asked me to go upstairs to make sure the bathroom was clean and so up I went. I had to practically crawl up the stairs because of the pain in my back and legs. When I got to the top I saw this huge mess in the hallway, Iwas shocked! If there was a fire how would the kids ever manage to get down the stairs safely. Then I checked out their rooms...

I went down the stairs a whole lot faster than I went up, I was so mad! I got my video camera and stormed back up filming all the way. I don't even rtemember that it hurt I was so mad. I paid the price later though, The pain in my back and legs hurt so bad I couldn't even sleep when I tried to nap. The pain meds the doctor prescribed for breakout pain didn't even put a dent in the pain. Anyway I posted the video on Youtube. I wonder if there are other families with such slobs as these kids.

:-( Yuck! The video is gone but I saw the sink picture, so I can envision the rest in my wildest nighmares! Sorry you had to deal with that today on top of everything else......... Praying for you to get some pain relief, as well as for all the other needs and issues!

Cassie asked me to take down the video, she felt shame at the pigish way the kids are. I know she didn't raise them that way, but she still feels shame and guilt. The problem with them other than the fact that they are super lazy and slobs to boot is that it is so hard for Cassie and I to ascend the stairs with our disabilities to monitor them. We can't check on the rooms or bathroom every day. Kristin and Billy are finally starting to realize the stress this causes us, but Heidi...
