We went to the animal fair, the birds and the beasts were there....
Today Cassie and I took Tomas to the Six Flags Great Adventure Grand Safari Park in Jackson, NJ. There was Cassie, Billy, Tomas and myself. The total cost was eighty some odd dollars, which I balked at when we first entered. I soon changed my mind when we were able to get up close to the animals. I had some favorite photos I took while we were driving through the park.
The first was this very friendly Giraffe. I took this picture through my sunroof. He started to wash the roof with his tongue. Tomas was at first delighted, but after a few minutes closed his eyes and covered them with his arm.

The Giraffe has always been one of my favorite animals, when I was a boy Tomas's age I had a stuffed Giraffe which was about four feet tall. My father had won it for me at the Seaside boardwalk down at the Jersey shore. One of the few good memories I have of my biological father. The Giraffe was very soft and cuddly I can't remember what happened to it.
The next animal I liked was the Ostrich, this guy came right up alongside my van and started pecking at my window. I'm not sure if he wanted to say hello or was looking for a snack. This is another animal I have always been fascinated with.

My favorite animal of all at the park was this guy. My nickname from my childhood was Teddy bear. My wifes special name for me is TB, which stands for Teddy Bear. (unless she is mad at me, then it stands for something else) This guy looks so cute it was hard to resist jumping out of the car and cuddling with him.

After all was said and done we had a great time looking at all the animals and getting up close to them we didn't mind the cost. We stopped off at Tomas's daddy's house to bring the little guy back and had a nice time chatting with Tomas' other Pop-pop and his dad. Then we left for home. What a great day!
