Cat Collars
Cassie and I don't believe in allowing our cats outdoors. But just in case they manage to get out we decided they should all have collars with tags on them. Just in case... The last kitty to receive his collar was Cubby, he got his tonight. So did I! Cassie had ordered a bunch of collars a few days ago but she miscounted. She only ordered four and she needed five. All the cats had them so far but Cubby. We had to go to the Stop & Shop to pick up our daughter Linda and so when we went in I remembered to pick one up. I then remembered how skittish Cubby was when we tried to hold him so I picked up his favorite cat treats as a bribe. After we returned home I put his new tag on the collar and asked Cassie to place it on him when I held him. Cassie told me to be careful...

I lured Cubby out from under our bed where he usually stayed with some of his favorite treats and Cassie was ready with the collar. As Cubby was chowin' down on the snack I gently picked him up... Instantly this tiny nine or ten pound cat turned into a 500 pound tiger with claws and teeth to match. If you have ever tried to eat Jello with a fork during an earthquake, tornado and tsunami, then you know what it's like to hold Cubby. Cassie slipped the collar over his head in a flash and started to yell at me to let the cat go! But I didn't! Finally after a few more seconds I did. Cassie told me it was very foolish to hold on to him as long as I did. "I should have let him go right away!" She said.
I couldn't I whimpered, he had his claws dug in deep in my stomach and arm, I was afraid he would eviscerate me! After I dressed my wounds and received some comforting words from Cassie I gave the little guy some more treats, just to let him know that there were no hard feelings.
