Oh What A Night! (The aftermath)

Valentines Day is one of my favorite holidays. I like to be romantic every day with my darling bride Cassie but especially on Valentines Day.

The day started out normally enough. Pain from my back, Cassie was in pain, Tomas was fussing a little. The "Others" left the dining room table a mess, also the kitchen counters. The dog was barking the kids were arguing.  It was a normal day in the asylum.

Cassie and I had plans to go out to diner that evening at a great Italian Restaurant (I blogged about it a few days ago) I had my hopes on their Zuppe De Pesce entrée. I had skipped lunch due to some grumbling in my tummy and so I was mad hungry (Uh oh! Seems like I picked up a little teenager terminology) so was Cassie.

We had to pick up Tomas from school and the rush over to the doctor's office for Cassie's appointment. We were ten minutes late, but that didn't matter because the doctor was twenty minutes late as well. We had to get Tomas home for Kristin to babysit. Then we made a mad dash to get to the restaurant. (Which is fifty minutes away) By this time it was almost six thirty. Now the last time we went to the restaurant Anthony the manager told us that during the week it wasn't necessary to make an appointment, but on the weekends they were very busy. For some stupid reason I forgot that Valentines Day we wouldn't need an appointment because it was in the middle of the week.

Did I forget to mention that the reason we were watching the time so closely was Thursday night we get lost! Figuratively I mean. Well we do seem to get lost watching our favorite TV show "Lost." It's been said that Supernatural is the greatest show on TV these days. NO WAY!! Cassie and I are true Losties. Lost is hands down the best show on the tube! So there Robin! (Heh heh!)

Getting back to the story (or nightmare if you want) We arrived at the restaurant, only to discover that there was an hour wait. Cassie and I like I said before were hungry. My sugar was dropping and I was so hungry I was ready to start munching on my leather jacket! We decided to leave and go down the road to the Red Lion Dinner and see what the wait was there. They were just about as crowded. By this time even Cassie was starting to growl (he tummy I mean). We said the heck with it and went home to call in a pizza order at The Soprano's Pizza joint. On the way we stopped at the local Wawa to pick up two candy bars to tide us over until our food came.

We got home it was almost eight o'clock and called in our order. We then waited an hour for our food and they messed up the order. I wanted an eggplant parmigiana Cassie wanted a salad. We were too hungry to argue so we just settled for credit for the next time we order.

The worst part of the day was actually for me, I felt so guilty that I didn't get my sweetie any roses. I usually get her at least a dozen every Valentines Day (Mother's day too).
Cassie is such a wonderful woman and wife. She said she was happy just to be with me.

Well to make a long story longer, We got our food and sat down and watched our favorite show. It was great like it always is. Do you remember the old Carney saying: Always leave them always wanting more? The Lost writers do just that. Every time the show ends I scream and holler that it's not enough! They can't leave me like this!

I WANT MORE!! The show keeps Cassie and I talking about it all week, right up to the next episode. I praise God for whoever invented the DVR. Surely the man or woman is going to heaven. Now we get to watch it again and again and even do the slomo if we want to catch some important clues.

After the movie Cassie went to her computer to read the analysis written by some of the Losties (To compare notes. I went to read some more of the current book I'm into) We were both too tired to do any messin around. The day started with a bang and ended just wonderfully. My Cassie is the most wonderful woman in the galaxy!heartboyheartgirl

It's great to be in love! Like the song says.

Make every day your wife or your sweetie's a Valentines Day. She'll be glad you did, and you'll both be a lot happier!
