The man's side of it!

Cassie and I have been having problems getting the kids to clean out the kitty litter tray. They often forget (conveniently) even after we've told them numerous times. Awhile back while we were getting pet food at Pet Smart I saw an automatic kitty liter tray. Wow I thought this is just what we need. Alas Cassie nixed the idea as too expensive. So we didn't get the tray. Well the problem continued to get worse and the kids began to get real uppity about cleaning the kitty liter so I broached the subject of the automatic kitty litter tray again to Cassie. But it's so expensive, she said. Yeah I know but the tray lasts for two to three weeks and it's real easy to change out the cartridges. We will only have to do this once every two to three weeks instead of every day. Finally Cassie saw the light, and we went to Pet smart and purchased one. I set it up the next morning and it looked like it was a smash with our kitties. Or so I thought.

The Culprit: Amber!

Amber doesn't like change and so she rebelled by peeing and pooping on our bedspread. Cassie took her to the litter box the next morning and tried to acclimate her to it. Thinking she got the point we went to bed that night hoping she would use the new box, but just in case we kept her out of bedroom last night. This morning we woke to a brite new day and wandered into the family room and were shocked to see that Amber had pooped all over the couch. Man I said. How can one cat hold that much crap in her. There were six or seven large craplets all over the couch. Yuch! I'm not sure what our next move should be, but I'm thinking stick her out in the bunny hutch for a while and see how she likes that.
