Time... is not on my side...
There never seems to be enough time to get things done anymore. Everyone tells me it's a downhill slide once you hit 40, It sure seems to be true in my case.
Cassie and I had the pleasure of 3 of my grandchildren visiting from Tennessee for the past 2 weeks. Last Friday we had to take them back home to their parents. Cassie and thought that because it's such a long drive that we would make it into a mini vacation, something we still haven't been able to do since we were married four years ago. We got to Tennessee and met Michele the kid's mom at the restaurant where she works and had dinner together. Then we transfered all the kid's stuff to her car and went back to our hotel room and crashed for the night. We planned to have breakfast then head to Washington DC to visit the Smithsonian Museum. Once we got into Virginia we stopped at the Information Center and picked up some brochures and info packets of things to see and do in Virginia for ideas for our next vacation. Cassie and I spotted one for the Natural Bridge which looked interesting and just happened to be on our way to DC so we decided to stop and visit. WOW! It is awesome! I took many pictures while there. We had a great walk (we spent about 3 hours there) through the park enjoying all the sights and determined that next time we'll arrange to see everything they have to offer.
We then continued on our journey to Washington DC. We checked in at our hotel, The Comfort Inn International and had a late Pizza dinner and a good night's sleep. Next morning we were raring to go. We caught the hotel shuttle to the Metro and zoomed into DC. We got off at the Smithsonian exit and started walking to the Air & Space Museum. Cassie started to feel a little uncomfortable along the way and soon she was feeling a little under the weather soon after we started looking around the museum. I took pictures of just about everything. Cassie got tired of walking and asked me to keep going while she sat and waited. I took a bunch of pictures and posted them here .
We left the museum early because Cassie was getting sicker and went back to our hotel. My poor sweetie was really miserable and I asked her if she wanted to go home then but she said no we would leave the next day. Guess what? The next day I became sick too. We drove home hoping to make it in a couple of hours but with traffic accidents, rush hour traffic, and making a few wrong turns it took us a little over four hours to finally get home. By Wednesday and Thursday we finally could say we were over this stomach flu. I still haven't had time to put captions on all thos pictures but soon....
