What is it with teenagers!
Talking with my teens is like banging my head against the wall. It does no good and only causes excruciating pain. This morning Kristin is leaving to catch the bus, the last thing I said to her was do you have your house key? "Yessssss, Ted, I have it!" (You know the attitude, they talk to you like you're stupid). Kristin had a school function and was going to stay after, Cassie and I had to do some shopping and drop Heidi off at work. It's freezing outside and there's 14 inches of snow on the ground. I didn't want Kristin to have to wait outside or (dare I say it) Break in through the windows, AGAIN!
While Cassie and I are in the store I get a call on my cell, It's Kristin calling from the bus telling us not to pick her up, she's getting off early. OK I said, you have your key, just wait inside and we'll be right home, we're almost done shopping.
We get home and I start unloading the groceries and Kristin walks out from the back yard with snow all over her and her backpack. UH OH, I think, she didn't have her key and she was trying to break in through the window again. I put a screw in her favorite break-in point and have been making sure the windows are locked before I leave the house.
So when I confronted her about it she lied and spun a story about how she was just looking at the icicles hanging down from the gutters. I then asked her to show me th key and she couldn't find it. So I sent her up to her room and told her to look until she did find it. Then I began banging my head against the wall. What could it hurt I thought, it's more fun and less painful than talking to TEENS!banghead.gif

if we act like that then its because we have a reason you should be ashamed of your self for posting that message. if you can tell the world about your teenager then you cant be that upset!

Thanks for posting your comment Natalie.
Is lying to YOUR parents correct or acceptable behavior? If not (which is what I suspect) then why should I be ashamed. I tell the world about what the kids do so that I may blow off some steam and not lose my temper. Or would that have been better. My blog is a constructive outlet for my emotions. How would you have handled the situation?
If you are a teenager going through the same kind of trials give me a good reason why lying to or breaking in to your parents house is justified. I'd really like to hear your opinion.
And as a matter of fact, I was very upset at what my Teen did!
