I'm up and running again!
Wow what a week. I've been working a bunch of overtime and when I get home I just want to crash. That's just what happened Thursday night after I got home! One of the guys at work needed to have some envelopes printed for his engagement party, and I offered to do it for him. I started to set up a mail merge data base and Cassie called me to dinner. After dinner I went back to the computer and there was the blue screen of death! The message said that Windows couldn't find the file hal.dll for some reason. So I rebooted and kept getting the same message. I thought I might have picked up a virus so I ran the scanner but it couldn't find my "C" drive. That's when I knew that the hard drive had crashed.
I regularly back up my Quicken financial files but haven't backed up anything else in about three months so I lost everything between then and now. Everything! I picked up a new drive at the CompUSA in Moorestown and started to rebuild the computer files. After screwing up once and corrupting the Windows installation by trying to get the data from the old drive. I decided it was a complete loss. I finally got all my software installed and restored the files I had backed up before (Thank goodness) I can say the computer is up and running! I finished printing out the envelopes and now have time to make this entry.
Stumble It!
