The Roofers!
Several days ago I called a Roofer to estimate the cost of fixing a leak around the bathroom vent pipe and a possible leak in the family room roof. John gave me a good estimate and said they would be there that weekend. One of the workers hurt his back on another job and they had to reschedule until today. They showed up at eight this morning and started to tear off the old roof. The owner, John Sorrentino knocked on the door in the afternoon and called me out to see how they were progressing. He explained that we had a big leak in the area around our skylights. I looked and saw that the wood was all wet. John told me that I would have to replace the skylights in about a year or so. He could do it now or later when I had more money, for six hundred dollars that is. I told him we'd have to wait a bit on that due to a lack of funds.
Owning a house creates a never ending list of things that need to be done. Not just repairs, but also improvements, maintenance, emergences, you name it. Cassie and I were talking about all the problems we've had here in the last two years, and she said maybe we should have bought the other house we looked at before we bought this one. I thought about it for a moment, and remembered that for the longest time I wanted to buy a house here in Country Lakes. I fell in love with this house the first time we looked at it. It really is a beautiful home. We live in a nice neighborhood, we have great neighbors, The only problem with it is that we are a half hour (minimum) from every place we need to go. We've sunk a lot of money into this place, but it might have been worse somewhere else. The roofers are almost done. They have to come back and finish up in the morning. I sure hope it doesn't rain tonight!
Stumble It!
